Orthopedic simulator for training in wrist osteosynthesis, distal radius fractures, and thumb base fractures
The anatomical model of the left human wrist with fractures (Fracture 1) by Nacional Ossos was developed to meet the needs of instructors, students, and professionals in orthopedic trauma who work with plates and screws, external fixators, Kirschner wires, and anchors (for training and demonstration purposes).
Ideal for hands-on training, workshops, in-person courses, in-office demonstrations, and distance learning, this simulator enables the practice of reduction and fixation with a high degree of realism in both in-person and distance learning settings.
With mechanical properties similar to those of human bone, the set consists of solid Radius (code 3021), Ulna (code 3020), and Hand (code 1001) components, connected by elastic filaments that simulate joint stability for training purposes. The model features: a fracture at the base of the thumb, a longitudinal fracture with displacement in the proximal metaphysis, and an intra-articular fracture with displacement in the radius, allowing users to cut, drill, and repeat the procedure as many times as necessary.
Nacional Ossos’ line of synthetic bones with fractures was created to address the difficulty of obtaining specific fracture patterns and to enable a safe, repetitive practice routine aligned with best practices in bioethics and sustainability.
Compatible with Nacional Ossos clamps, it allows for movement along multiple axes, ensuring stability so that students can work with both hands free, just as they would with a real patient.
