Overview
Endoprosthesis is often the result of degenerative joint disease that destroys cartilage, capsule and soft tissues. Osteophytes on the femoral head and acetabular rim restrict motion and cause pain. The hip is a ball-and-socket joint; causes of degeneration include dysplasia, growth disturbances, trauma, metabolic disorders and overweight.

Product purpose
The AM-SB-01/CCA hip orthosis with side splint is intended for postoperative stabilization after hip replacement. The side splint limits undesirable movements (excessive adduction, flexion, rotation) that may cause endoprosthesis loosening or displacement. The device provides adjustable range-of-motion control to support rehabilitation and protect the implant during recovery.

How the splint works
The JOINT FLEX CONTROL hinge is low-profile aluminum enabling smooth flexion/extension adjustment and control of abduction/adduction between 0° and 25°. A drop lock is set with a hex key and provides ROM stops at 0°, 20°, 45°, 70°, 90°, 110° and 125°. ROM adjustment requires a hex key to prevent inadvertent angle changes. The abduction/adduction hinge is made of durable ABS with carbon fibre elements.

• BOA® Fit System: dial-and-lace micro-adjustment for fast, precise fitting; durable for product lifetime.
• CCA Compression System: steel wire and polyamide grommet fastening for firm, non-elastic compression with adjustable levels and attachment options.
