Description

Description
The AM-WSP-10 is a thoracic‑lumbar‑sacral orthosis (TLSO) designed to stabilise the thoracolumbar junction (Th12–L1) and lumbar spine while enabling controlled active movement. It combines a rigid posterior LSO plate with an ActiveSpace™ torso belt and dual compression systems to provide posterior support, circumferential unloading and anterior support via an abdominal pad option. Intended for conservative treatment, rehabilitation and temporary postoperative stabilisation.

Key features and design
The device comprises:
  • Rigid posterior LSO plastic plate with an anatomically shaped support pad for the Th12–L1 region.
  • CCA BOA® micro‑adjustment system integrated into the posterior plate for single‑handed, precise tensioning and adaptation to lumbar lordosis.
  • ActiveSpace™ 3D spacer fabric torso belt (polyamide lamination) providing ventilation, low moisture absorption and skin comfort.
  • TapeLacing (TLS) circumferential compression system and front pocket to accept an abdominal pad for increased anterior support and load transfer to the abdominal wall.

Clinical benefits
The orthosis:
  • Stabilises thoracolumbar and lumbar segments and limits painful or excessive movements.
  • Reduces load on intervertebral discs and posterior structures through circumferential compression and the decompression plate.
  • Supports maintenance of spinal alignment, reduces muscle and ligament overload and decreases junctional tension at Th12–L1.
  • Permits controlled physical activity (work, walking, daily tasks) compared with bulkier traditional corsets.

Purpose of use
  • Pain syndromes of the thoracolumbar and lumbosacral spine
  • Discopathy and intervertebral disc herniation in the thoracolumbar and lumbar spine
  • Degenerative spinal conditions (spondylosis)
  • Spinal segment instability requiring TLSO stabilisation
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Overload, post‑traumatic conditions and vertebral compression fractures
  • Postural defects: hyperkyphosis, hyperlordosis or flattened lumbar lordosis
  • Spinal canal stenosis
  • Conservative treatment of thoracolumbar junction syndrome
  • Postoperative conditions requiring thoracolumbosacral stabilisation
  • Prevention of spinal overload during physical work and sports

Back: M: 50 cm; L: 52 cm

Materials and technological systems
  • ActiveSpace™: 3D spacer with polyamide lamination (non‑elastic two‑layer structure), high ventilation, low moisture absorption, waterproof and lightweight.
  • BOA® Fit System (CCA BOA®): micro‑adjustable dial and steel wire for precise fit and reliable fastening.
  • CCA Compression System: steel wire and polyamide grommets for strong, non‑elastic fastening and differential compression.
  • TLS (TapeLacing) Compression System: metal grommets, nylon tapes and Velcro enabling single‑pull circumferential compression and intra‑abdominal stabilisation.

Indications / Contraindications / Use notes
Indications are listed in the Purpose of use section above. TapeLacing and strong circumferential compression must be applied with care. Use only as directed in the instructions for use and labelling. Assess patient fit and skin condition regularly during use.
