Overview
The 4medic ATOM/2RA is a dynamic knee frame (4-point leverage brace) designed to resist varus and valgus forces and to control posterior tibial translation. It provides dynamic control of tibial translation for protection, rehabilitation and stabilization of knee ligaments, particularly the ACL. The device is Class I, waterproof and latex-free.

Product description
ATOM/2RA consists of an aluminium 6061 T6 frame, powder-dyed for corrosion and moisture resistance, fitted with two anatomic polycentric hinges (2RA Precision) that replicate physiological knee motion and allow range-of-motion (ROM) adjustment. The inner surface features AirDistance II comfort foam covered with cotton and terry to reduce skin irritation. The brace includes five straps and protective cushions to minimise migration.

4 Points of leverage system — purpose and mechanism
The 4-point leverage system reduces knee load and protects ligaments by limiting posterior tibial translation. The four points are:

• 1 — anterior thigh contact (aluminium frame)
• 2 — posterior calf contact (frame)
• 3 — posterior thigh strap
• 4 — anterior calf strap providing tibial preload by posteriorly directed force

This reduces ACL tension (maintaining slight tension to support healing), limits ligament overload during standing/sitting and helps prevent additional soft tissue injury. Indications include preoperative and postoperative protection and rehabilitation (remodeling phase ~12–18 months).
