Product overview
JAVELIN – functional knee brace with FLOW MOTION Technology. The JAVELIN functional knee brace provides targeted support to the knee joint after injury and reduces risk during intensive physical activity or contact sports. It protects ligaments, tendons, joint capsule and meniscus in cases of sprain, dislocation or advanced ligament damage. The orthosis features a lightweight, anatomically shaped aluminium frame for optimal stabilisation with minimal product weight.

Comfort & fit
Thermoformed padding with adjustable length reduces pressure on bony prominences. Padding is covered with skin-friendly silicone to minimise slippage. Wrap-around Velcro straps maintain position during prolonged use, and a quick pin fastening system enables simple, intuitive application and removal.

Main Features
The integrated 4-axis hinge mechanism reproduces physiological knee motion using clock inserts that move relative to each other following a four-bar linkage principle, ensuring consistent contact between joint surfaces across the knee’s physiological range of motion.
Equipped with a pressure-relieving cushioning system with anti-migration properties and an optional set of soft attachment pads for precise, individual fitting.
Circumferential straps with a memory system and quick-release buckles enable rapid application and removal of the pre-fitted orthosis.
The orthosis is fully water-resistant, suitable for bathing and extreme water sports environments.

Technology
FLOW MOTION Technology: advanced aluminium splints with an innovative hinge that reproduces the anatomical knee range of motion. The 4-axis articulating mechanism maintains constant contact between thigh and shin articular surfaces throughout the knee’s physiological range, supporting natural rotational movements and reducing injury risk.

Materials
Active3D™: thermoformed, closed-cell foam fabric that reduces pressure and abrasion from rigid elements (stays, splints). Fully waterproof, non-absorbent to sweat, easy to clean, and available with external self-gripping layers. Used to shape functional parts of the brace and improve patient comfort.

Paddings
3D relief supports made of supportive foams or EVA foam combined with skin-friendly and adhesive materials. Anatomically shaped pads relieve metal elements (splints, stays, drop locks) and other components that must not contact skin directly, providing appropriate hardness and elasticity for therapeutic effect.

Additional notes
Anterior-posterior frame design protects the shin from anterior translation (e.g., ACL injury). The frame supports use in advanced ligament damage cases by limiting unwanted lateral movement and providing additional stabilisation to promote healing and help prevent re-injury. Class I medical device.
