Description

The Torso support AM-TX-02 is a postoperative thoracic belt designed to stabilize the sternum and chest wall after cardiac or thoracic surgery and following rib or sternum fractures. It reduces tension on surgical wounds during coughing and sleep, supports respiration and enables earlier mobilization and initiation of cardiological rehabilitation.

Purpose of use

• After sternum (breastbone) and rib fractures
• After cardiological surgeries (post-sternotomy support)

Technology / Materials

AirDistance II™: three-layer lamination consisting of a durable self-gripping polyamide outer layer, off-loading EVA foam and a polyamide 3D spacer inner layer. The external self-gripping surface allows attachment of hard components; EVA foam reduces pressure from splints; the 3D spacer ensures high air permeability and low moisture absorption. Material is waterproof. Inner contact layer is cotton, allowing direct use on skin.

Stiffenings

• Flat aluminium stays: made of a special aluminium alloy providing stiffness with low weight; rounded ends to avoid product damage; available flat or pre-profiled. These stays do not conform to the body and require individual bending for orthosis adjustment; bending permits posture correction or joint stabilization.
• Plastic stays: available in various widths and thicknesses, made of polyamide, ABS or acrylic; resistant to water, moisture and sweat; function directionally to provide lateral stabilization and have memory to return to original shape; they are not bendable for posture correction.
